Jericho was a character in the book "The Sumerian King List". The Sumerian King List is a list of kings and their reigns that was discovered by archaeologists in the mid-twentieth century. But what is interesting about this list is that it does not include any mention of a king called “Jericho.” The Babylonians, who lived in the same area as the Sumerians and wrote and recorded everything and anything they found, never mention a king called Jericho. If you look at the list of kings who lived before the time of Christ, you will find no mention of Jericho. It seems as though there was once a king named “Jericho” whom no one knows about.
